Commitment to Community

Dr Gerard O’Hare CBE was recognised as HRH Prince Charles Ambassador for Northen Ireland in 2009 because of the leadership and commitment he has shown to responsible business and how he has inspired other organisations to take action. In the same month he was also appointed as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Latvia to Northern Ireland and still holds this post today, where he provides consular support from his offices in Newry.

Parker Green International is a proud member of ‘Business in the Community’, a charitable organisation which is ‘committed to encouraging businesses to improve their positive impact on society through corporate social responsibility’.

Commitment to Education

As an internationally acclaimed company, we have links to the prestigious Graduate School of Design at Harvard in the USA, the University of Ulster, which is one of Ireland’s leading universities and the Southern Regional College in Newry

Dr. Gerard O’Hare CBE, Managing Director of Parker Green, is also a visiting professor at the University of Ulster, School of the Built Environment and the prestigious Harvard Graduate School of Design in the USA. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate of letters for his involvement in and dedication to the championing of public private partnerships and urban regeneration.

Appointed Chairman of the University of Ulster Foundation, he has previously supported the University’s School of the Built Environment through the establishment in 2004 of the Gerard O’Hare Chair in Property Development and Design, and has personally contributed to the teaching of the BSc Honours programme in Property Investment and Development.

Parker Green’s International Post Graduate Programme endorsed by the University of Ulster was launched in 2005. The successful innovative programme involves graduates spending 18 months working in Parker Green’s Irish Head Office in Newry and in our Central and Eastern European base in Slovakia. The first stage awards each Post Graduate with a Diploma in International Real Estate, with the final stage awarding a MSc in Industrial Practice.
Previously we had Slovakian, Czech, Hungarian and American students participating in the programme, who have since graduated from the University with a MSc in International Real Estate.
