A mass celebration of responsible business took place at The Waterfront Hall in Belfast on Thursday 9th June 2011 where Parker Green International picked up the Most Responsible Small Firm award at this year’s Business In The Community Regional Recognition Awards.
Sponsored by ESBIE Electric Ireland and in association with Ulster Business Magazine, the annual awards highlight the best examples of the positive impact businesses are having in the environment, amongst their employees and in the local communities in which they operate.
Dr O’Hare, Group Managing Director of Parker Green International said, “We are absolutely delighted to win the first Most Responsible Small Firm award. This award recognises that Parker Green demonstrates a sustainable and responsible approach to doing business, to the benefit of our stakeholders and also the wider community. We set measurable CSR targets and can see the positive impact our CSR strategy has on employees, the local community and the environment.”
Commenting on the event, Paul Rooney, Chair of Business in the Community Northern Ireland said:
“Each year I am thoroughly inspired by the businesses across Northern Ireland striving to incorporate responsible business in all they say and do. There is a growing requirement to do more with less which requires an innovative, creative approach to tackling societies biggest challenges, powerful collaboration, and effective leadership. Our winners have these qualities in abundance, and the diverse nature of the projects recognised highlights the powerful impact created when businesses and communities connect to meet local needs. All of our winners should be proud to be pioneers in this growing movement of individuals transforming businesses and by doing so transforming communities for good.”
Commenting on the awards, Susan Kinane, Managing Director from awards sponsor ESBIE Electric Ireland, said: “I congratulate the businesses which have achieved an award. Operating in one of the toughest years, these organisations strive to put corporate responsibility at the heart of their businesses and continue to make a positive impact on their employees, partners, local communities and the environment.”
