Dr Gerard O’Hare has been awarded a CBE, on Her Majesty The Queen’s New Year’s Honours List 2010.
Dr O’Hare CBE is Chair of the University of Ulster Foundation Board and serves on both the Business in the Community Committee NI and the Princes Trust. Earlier this year he was awarded the Lambda Alpha International Award for Urban Regeneration and currently serves as the Prince of Wales Ambassador for Corporate Social Responsibility in Northern Ireland.
On receipt of his CBE award Dr O’Hare said:
‘I am both honoured and humbled by this award. The notification came as a complete surprise. I am conscious that such awards reflect very much the support one receives from family, friends and work colleagues. Therefore this award is shared with all those who have supported me throughout the past number of years and I am grateful in particular to my family. I believe strongly in the concept of public service in terms of both personal and corporate social responsibility and hope to continue to support organisations in pursuit of that objective.’
