PGI endorses Slovakian Postgraduate Programme

Press Release June 30th 2006

Irish-based Property Investment and Development Company, Parker Green International launched themselves into the Slovakian property market last year with the official opening of their Central and Eastern European office based on Palisady in Bratislava.

In January, the company embarked on a Slovakian postgraduate training programme accredited by the University of Ulster, one of Northern Ireland’s established Universities.
The programme invited four business graduates from Slovakia to spend the majority of the year in Parker Green’s Irish Headquarters in Newry and the remainder in Parker Green’s Slovakian office in Bratislava.

Dr. Gerard O’Hare, Group Managing Director of Parker Green International stated:

“We are delighted to be celebrating the success of Parker Green International’s postgraduate programme six months in. The programme was introduced as a mutually beneficial programme for both parties. Each graduate has been given the opportunity to be actively involved in the mechanisms of a fast-paced and innovative property company while concurrently developing their skills in written and spoken English.”

“As a company, we benefit from a culturally rich mix, which has been further cemented by the addition of competent translators who are fountains of knowledge on all aspects of Slovakian geography, culture and lifestyle.”

“As we had established strong University links both internationally with Harvard University in USA and locally with the University of Ulster, we wanted to extend the opportunity of work experience to a selection of the best, fresh-thinking, graduates from Slovakia. We envisage that this annual programme will continue to be a great success and a fantastic learning curve for us all”

The annual programme, which involves each graduate circulating all departments within the company, will conclude early next year. On completion of this programme the graduates will have another qualification under their belt in receipt of a diploma/Ms in Industrial Practice awarded by the University of Ulster. The students will then have the option to progress on to a MSc. in Industrial Practice involving an academic semester at the University of Ulster and completion of a comprehensive dissertation.
