On Friday 1st June, Dr. Gerard O’Hare, Director at Parker Green International welcomed representatives from Lambda Alpha International, the Honorary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics, as part of their Irish ’weekend experience’
A presentation focusing on Newry’s past, present and greater vision for the future was given by Dr. O’ Hare accompanied by Conor Patterson, Secretary of the Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade, in one of the Omniplex theatre’s at the Quays
Dr. O’ Hare commented on the visit:
‘We are delighted to welcome representatives from Lamda Alpha International to our city today. This prestigious society was founded in 1930 and acts as a catalyst for the advancement of land economics by facilitating the interaction of members who have distinguished themselves in their professions, their communities and through academic achievements’.
‘It gives distinguished practitioners and scholars the opportunity to unite in discussion and debate to help solve dilemmas involving use of our land resources. It currently has over 2,000 members and we had the great honour of presenting our aspirations for the greater Newry area to a selection of these elite members today’
Following the presentation, Dr. O’ Hare and PGI were presented with a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ in recognition of their support of the ‘society’ as it develops its relationship with land economics experts in Northern Ireland’ during their inaugural visit.
